good times at the children's museum

i must comment on this picture. collin DID NOT know this child. he just really wanted to drive the car and him not having one single solitary shy bone in his body climbed up in this kid's lap. and i knew, KNEW as soon as he saw that car that this was exactly what was going to happen. that little boy was a sweetie, he let collin drive and never said a word!

daddy would be proud of the forestry equipment usage!

cdawg loves this rock thing. i bet we spent 45 minutes here.

the difference

how a four year old puts together a puzzle.

aaand how a one year old puts together a puzzle.
a bit of a difference, eh?

a conglomeration

kendall came to play the other day. she's such a sweetie. i told carey that i think there was a little crushin' going on. she had the eyelash bat and little giggle all afternoon for her "friend caleb". sweet girl, i'd want one just like her!

collin has this new thing where after his bath he has to run around nekked with only his towel. i'm not sure why, he just likes it. There's lots of screaming and running involved.

cdawg had his first soccer practice the other night. he really liked it but was really tired the next day. i think he worked pretty hard. he told me exactly how he wanted to take this picture- you know, with his foot on the ball like real soccer players do. he kinda looks a little like ralphie's little brother all bundled up. he's got on a tshirt, two sweaters and two pairs of pants. it was COLD out there!

this one's a little blurry- but there were snow flurries out. neither child was all that impressed. we stayed out for about 5 minutes and then unbundled.

** also, wanted to give y'all a little update. i registered C for school on thursday and it went SO great. it was like a homecoming- i got to see all my old teacher friends, lots of hugs and oooing and ahhing over how cute C is- and i spent a lot of time catching up with my old boss aka C's new principal. i'm telling y'all, i had the best, most peaceful feeling when i left the school. i won't go into a lot detail other than to brag on God, but seriously, the word for the event would be FAVOR. there was lots of it involved :)

before antartica visited mississippi....

we had some big fun playing outside in the afternoons.

cdawg showin' off his skillz

they only like to swing together. we sing songs and pretend to be airplane pilots.

buff learned how to play in the sandbox. he still eats a handful every now and then, but you know the old saying- "God made dirt and dirt don't hurt" :)

he also learned how to conquer the little slide. he's pretty proud of himself. if he could only learn how to get down without bustin' it we'd be doin' good!

classic example

y'all, i love that my boys are so different. i love to compare them, imagine them when they're older, laugh at them- it's just fun. i always thought comparing my kids would be a negative thing, but it's just the opposite for me, i delight in their differences.

anyway, here's an example:

we're all three eating cereal (out of the box if you must know). i hold out a handful to the boys and caleb takes three or four and eats them one at a time. collin on the other hand snatches as much as he can and shoves it as quickly as he can into his chubby little cheeks all the while grunting loudly and reaching for the next handful.

if this doesn't demonstrate their personalities to a tee, i don't know what does :)

classic.

finally! a day cool enough to get outside for a bit. this is collin's first time in the swing (well, our swing at home) so i thought i'd document it. he really liked it!

since i have nothing new to show you, a flashback post

aweee. look at that sweet baby boy!

collin, just after we got home from the hospital.

look at caleb! he's grown so much. he looks like a baby here. i can't believe it's almost been a year since little collin first joined our family. oh how i love that little guy (and my big guy too). time is just flying. never understood what that meant until i had little ones.
when i think about time, i think about two quotes. a teacher i had in junior high always used to say, whenever we'd ask what time it was- "time is passin'. the question is ARE YOU?" and the other, "you realize that time is passin', and it's marchin' right over yo face." (see if you can guess where that quote came from. ha!) sometimes, i don't really make sense on this blog. or in real life. but it's my blog, so i'll ramble if i want to :)

caleb, 7 months

i didn't see it. i was thinking the other day how caleb and collin really don't favor that much, and then i saw these pictures and i realized that they do. so many little similarities. oh how little did i know that both these boys would grow and change so quick!
