prayer for my boys....

Since before Caleb was born I've started praying specific things for him. At night before he goes to bed we pray as a family- and here's my prayer each and every night (in pretty much this order too- however, they are not necessarily listed in order of importance, the order is more of a habit now).
Bedtime:
1. That God would protect my boys from illness, harm, and accidents.
2. That they would be healthy, strong, handsome, and smart men.
3. That God would bless and favor them all of their days. (I think the favor thing is super important. K's mom has prayed this for him for years and it's amazing the "favor" that he has with people and situations!)
4. That they would come to know Jesus in a personal way at an early age and would never depart from or doubt that knowledge.
5. That they would use all of their talents and abilities to honor God.
6. That they would love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and mind.
7. That they would be bold in sharing Jesus's love with others.
8. That they would have godly friends, influences and teachers.
9. That they would have beautiful, godly wives.

And, something new I've started- each time we get into the car together I pray for us out loud:
1. I pray for protection as we drive- specifically for angels to flank our car :) and for protection when we get to our destination.
2. I pray for Daddy a new truck (just cause I want him to have a new one, not that there's anything wrong with the old one).
3. I pray that people would see Jesus in us and that we would be able to share Him with someone. (Wow, the opportunities God's giving me with that one!)
4. If we're going to Summer Camp or church I pray that his teacher would see how special he is, love on him, and take extra good care of him. I also pray that he gets along well with his buddies and has a lot of fun.

Well, that's about it. I'll probably be adding new things to the list- but for the moment this is what we need in our little preschool world.

I love you Caleb and Willy T and I hope you always know that your mama faithfully prays for you!

and his name shall be Levon

** SERIOUSLY, we are not naming the baby Levon- it's an Elton John song? ever heard it? :)

hi blog buddies!
just wanted to say that i have no ultrasound pictures to show you, nor have i downloaded any of the pics of the fun stuff that C and i have been up to. nope, just wanted y'all to know that i'm still here and baby sweet P is doing great. he still does not have a name. i'm thinking about giving K an ultimatum and telling him that we're not eating (or something kinda like that) until we have made a decision. although, we are closer than we were before. actually, i think K is just deciding that it's easier to give in to me (since he really does like the names that i like, he just has issues with the fact that 1 of his friends is naming his baby the same thing- boo, hiss for that- and the other name is the exact name of one of his buddies). i personally am not concerned about any of these issues. after all, K already stuck Polk at the end, shouldn't i get to pick the beginning? and aren't i the one who's carrying this little booger and was sick at the beginning and is giving my self shots everyday and is peeing every 15 minutes? oh yes, i am. and don't think i haven't reminded him of that (every once in a while). but y'all, really- when i pitch a fit about something and demand my way, i'm never all that happy when i get it. so anyway, he will be named, and hopefully soon.

we also have zero done in the nursery and i am not caught up on any of the things that i wanted to be caught up on. if you know me i am SUCH a planner and i get stuff done quick. it doesn't take me any time to get a vision for what i want, and i can paint and like decorate a room in like half a day (slight exaggeration, but seriously, i'm fast). so i'm not sure what the hold up is. this is exactly like with Caleb- people kept saying, "D, you're so organized! i can't believe you don't have this together already!" and i couldn't explain it either. but rest assured, i'll get it all done and there will be pictures.... eventually.

so that's it. hopefully i'll get a chance to sit down and put all of our recent pics on here. me and C have had some good times at the zoo, splash pad, swimming, movies. lots of fun updates to come!

pink or blue??

Well apparently that question has been on everybody's minds today (very much to my delight :)
So I won't keep you in suspense any longer-
We
are
having
a.......
BOY!!

YES! I am thrilled to say the least. We got to see all of his little parts and I kept thinking- that looks like a boy, but I wasn't going to say anything for fear that it would be like is toe or something! And then she asked us, "Well, I've been ALL over it, what do y'all see?" And immediately I said, "BOY!".
He put on a sho' nuff show for us and we all loved every minute. He waved his little hands and patted his face and kicked his legs- precious. And I had not had ONE little bit of caffeine, he's just active. I knew I was feeling him a lot more than I did with Caleb at this stage. We got to see all of his little organs and arms and legs and she told us that everything looked "textbook". Of course, we think he's above average all ready.

Me and little Sweet P (that will still be his name for a while because he doesn't have a real name yet) are 18 weeks along (which was halfway for Caleb). He's measuring right on track and so am I. However, I've gained TEN pounds and he only weighs 8 ozs. Seriously? Where's all that weight at? We'll just say it's water and leave it at that.

Y'all, the smile hasn't left my face yet!! TWO stinky boys. I am outnumbered. I am blessed. I am so thankful and happy and grateful and I just can't wait to spend the next 20 years listening to huntin' stories and watching baseball games. It's gonna be a fun ride y'all. I'm a BOY mama :)

doctor's visit

I wasn't actually supposed to go the doctor for another 3 weeks- but I guess another perk of being a high maintenance preg girl is that when you call them and tell them that your belly feels tight and like you might have had a few contractions- they get you in quick!
All yesterday I kept feeling this weird pressure in my stomach. I would feel a little out of breath and my stomach muscles felt tight. When I was pregnant with C I went into labor at 30 weeks, and apparently I had been having some contractions for a while and didn't know enough to have been paying attention. So anyway, at the risk of sounding like a hypochondriac- I decided to go ahead and call the Doc. She was VERY sweet and reassuring and said that anytime I feel anything weird that I am immediately to call and come in. She said that after everything I've been through I need to be super careful and not take chances.
Well, in the end everything looked great. No dilation or cervix shortening thank goodness. She really felt like I had some bowels that were pushed into my upper abdomen and that was making my stomach feel like that. Yep, a little gas was all.
I'm still glad I went because I got another sonogram today! My record with Caleb was 6 sonograms total and I'm hoping for the same with this little one (except that I don't want to have the same problems I had with Cdawg!!). I've got pics from 7 weeks, 8 weeks, and now 15 weeks. I need to do a little photo montage but we'll have to get to that later. Especially when we go in 3 weeks for our 18 week sonogram and we find out if my little P is a boy or girl.
Sorry if I'm boring y'all with all this doctor visit and baby talk- but it's kinda like a little journal for me, ya know? One of these days I'll be able to look back and remember :) Bear with me!

just a lil' update....

Hi blog peeps! Just wanted to let you know that I went to my 14 week doctor's appointment and it went GREAT. We got to hear our little Sweet P's heartbeat (we meaning me and Caleb, he got to make this trip with me due to a series of unfortunate events). As a side note, sweet Cdawg was a fabulous little dude at the doctor's office, I couldn't have asked for better behavior. This was all pretty much due to lots of prayer on the way there I feel sure :)

So as of this week I'm not taking progesterone, and I feel MUCH, much better. Thank goodness! Still doin' the shots, but really, between the two, give me a shot any day.

Next visit we find out whether Sweet P is a boy or girl, and I seriously can't wait! I tried to make the appointment as early in the week/day as possible, but of course nobody would rearrange their schedule at the doc's office to make that happen so we are on a Wednesday at 2pm.

I am always so thankful for my doctor, she is wonderful. I can't say enough. Especially since about a week before it's time for me to go I decide that everything has gone south and I'm going to hear terrible news when I go. I wish I could go back to when I was pregnant with Caleb and it didn't even occur to me to worry (well I did, but I didn't really think it would happen FOR REAL). So when this little baby gets here I will not take for granted the miracle that he/she is. Not to mention the miracle that Cdawg is! My sweet friend asked me just this morning at breakfast (Primos, so yummy!) "Do you just laugh at him (Caleb) all day long?". And my answer was YES! He is the delight of my life. And Sweet P is too, we just only have one sided conversations so far :)

And, finally, I've been feeling Baby Sweet P move for about 2 weeks now (I know, they say that you can't this early but I'm positive that's what I'm feeling- I felt it with Caleb too this early). At first it was just definite little bumps, but now it's for sure a few bumps and some rolling around. Everybody always says it feels like gas, but to me it feels like what it is- some kid bumpin' and rollin' around in there. I don't feel it everyday, but I've felt it the most today at the doc's office. I was feeling the baby move LOTS and then Dr. M had a hard time getting a heartbeat count because SP kept moving. I know from experience all that wigglin' gets kind of old, but for now, I just hold my breath and breathe a prayer of thanks!!

Well, I think that's ALL the updates I have folks. I'm sure there's pics on my camera that I could put on here, but the boys are gone to a ballgame and this sister is gettin' in the bathtub and headed to the BED.

Baby News....

So, if you haven't heard, which I'm pretty sure most of you have-

I'm 12 weeks pregnant. YES! We are super excited. Our due date is November 15, but Caleb came a month early, so you just never know. I can guarantee you that this time around we'll be ready a month early.

I've had two sonograms and last visit we could hear the heartbeat on the doppler, so a sono wasn't needed. I was kinda hoping that she would do one anyway since I'm totally spoiled with that. I also was going to see our fabulous Dr. every two-three weeks, but now I'm every four. Was totally spoiled with that too. You wouldn't think going to the doctor so much would be fun, but there are some perks to being considered "risky". Well, not really risky, I'm not sure what the word would be because there isn't any risk in me being pregnant, I just have a hard time staying pregnant without the medicines that I'm on this time.

For those of you who remember about my little blood condition (that we didn't know I had with Caleb), I am taking lovenox or blood thinner shots everyday. Yep, in my stomach. But really, compared to what I get in the end, it's not bad. I don't even think about it, and it really doesn't hurt but for a second. No worse than getting your eyebrows waxed, although weird me always kinda likes getting my eyebrows waxed. I'm also taking some progesterone- it's not really something that I need, but it is a precaution. I've felt so much worse with this little one and I'm really hoping that it's the meds that make me feel this way- because in two weeks I can stop taking them (the pills, NOT the shot- that's a nine months dealio). So here's to hoping! With Caleb at 12 weeks I immediately felt better, not so much this time around. I keep having to remind myself with all this medication that it's not anything a doctor's doing- it's God who wanted me to have this baby and He will protect and see this pregnancy through. He protected Caleb against the odds and brought us a perfect, healthy, smart little one when he shouldn't be here. So I know that God can and will do the same with this baby.

Speaking of sweet Cdawg, he has no idea about what's to come. I mean, he'll tell you that there's a baby in my tummy and it's going to be his baby brudder or sista, but he really doesn't know what life will be like when he's not the center of our world. He'll be okay though, he's a pretty easy going kid.

So, if you will, please continue to pray for our little "Sweet P"- that he or she is healthy, strong, beautiful, and smart just like big brudder. And, pray for NO preterm labor... or kidney infections (have already had one :( .... and against worry for me. I act all strong, but really on the inside I get SO worried. So just pray for peace. Thanks y'all!!! Love Ya!
