I miss

I miss that there's not a black nose pressed against this window pane this morning.
I miss her digging under the shrubs in the backyard.
I miss dog hair in my kitchen.
I miss almost being knocked over every time I went outside.
I miss dog treats.
I miss wet noses on my leg.
I miss our Maggie May, but I'm glad she's not sick anymore.

A boy and his dog...

Sometimes being two has its perks! I've been letting Caleb play out back while I sew or do something else at the kitchen table. It's blazing hot outside, but that doesn't seem to matter. Notice that Caleb is loving being outside, however Maggie just wants inside.

Thank goodness for our gentle Maggie. She lets Caleb mistreat her terribly. Here he is doing a little "horsey riding". I have to put a stop to that QUICK.... today not quick enough-

because THIS is what happens to my little allergic man. Pictures don't do it justice. Poor baby. You put him outside with a big yellow dog and then you tell him NOT to play with her.

Dog-gone Good Dog

It is with a heavy heart that I type this post. This a picture of our sweet and faithful Lab, Maggie. Maggie was our baby and our heart for the 3 years before Cdawg. But, in the way that most dog-owner relationships go, she has been replaced by the actual baby. We have felt a lot of guilt about not spending as much time with Maggie as we used to.
She is
- playful
- five years old
- house trained
- obeys the commands sit, stay, heel, fetch, load up, and
shake
- loves kids (Cdawg rides her like a horse)
- trained to stay in our kitchen so that she didn't ruin our
carpet

Despite all of these great characteristics, Caleb is allergic to Maggie.... therefore she can't come in the house as much, and we don't spend as much time with her because we are always looking after Cdawg. We have both just HATED to look outside and see her sitting there so patiently waiting on us.... but still just couldn't bear the thought of letting her go. And then, today, I had to give Caleb benadryl because his eyes were swollen after playing with her, and that's when I made the final choice-
If you want a GREAT dog... please contact me. She is free to a good home. Preferably one that has a big backyard or lots of countryside to romp and roam on. She will LOVE you and your kids :)
